1. Officer E. Theriault's training records that pertain to his / her instruction / certification and continuing education of traffic speed enforcement and to the use of the speed detection device that was used to ascertain the speed of the vehicle described in citation #500179 (copy enclosed).
2. Officer E. Theriault's daily log for the day of 11/19/2006.
3. Officer E. Theriault's LIDAR and Radar log for the day of 11/19/2006.
4. The name, model and serial number of the speed measuring device used to ascertain the speed of the vehicle described in citation # 500179.
5. Copies of maintenance and / or certification records, for the last twelve months, of the speed measuring device that was used to ascertain the speed of the vehicle described in citation # 500179.
6. The following questions can be referenced on the attached Lane Diagram and Maps:
- Indicate on attached Lane Diagram the position and direction of both the speed measuring unit and Officer’s vehicle.
- Mile Marker location of Targeted Vehicle and speed measuring device:________

If you have any questions about the nature or scope of this request, please call me 469.878.6015. If you determine that all or some portion of the information requested is exempted from required disclosure, I request that you provide me with the portions of the requested information that are public and reasonably segrable from that which you believe is excepted. If any records are in active use or in storage, please certify this fact in writing and set a date and hour within a reasonable time when the records will be available, as required by section 552.221 of the Act.
If you determine that all or some portion of the information requested is excepted from required public disclosure under a particular exception, I request that you advise me as to which exceptions you believe apply. If you rely on previous determination, please advise me of the applicable court decision or Attorney General's opinion. If there is no such determination, please advise me of the request for such an opinion, as required under section 552.301 of the Act, and a dated copy of your letter to the Attorney General. I call your attention to section 522.353 of the Act, which provides penalties for a failure to release public records.
I am prepared to pay reasonable costs for copying, within the guidelines set by sections 552.261, 552.262, 552.263, 552.267, 552.268, 552.269.

just wanted to say thanks. i got a ticket in grapevine, texas at the end of april that i am fighting, and when the prosecutor decided to ask for a continuance, i did a little research and came upon your page. i used your letter as a form letter that i sent out to the officer, prosecuting attorney, judge and city secretary. i did get some info back, but not everything, so i have sent a second letter, reminding them that they are obligated to explain why they didn't send it all if it is an exception, plus i threw in some stuff about interrogatories to parties from the texas rules of court. anyhow, i just wanted to let you know i used your letter, and i appreciate you posting it on your blog. i might end up posting mine too (of course i will refer back to your site as the original) cause it took alot of searching through a bunch of crap that people wanted to sell me before i got to you. hope you had a great 4th of july.
